# Qingdao Tianshans Secure First Win in CSL Relegation Against Changchun Yatai
The Qingdao Tianshans earned their first win of the CSL relegation season on Saturday, defeating Changchun Yatai 2-1 at the Hanghai Stadium. The victory comes at a crucial time for Qingdao, who were at the bottom of the table before the match.
The game started with both teams looking to assert their dominance, but it was Qingdao who took the lead in the 18th minute through a well-taken goal by forward Li Jiaqi. The young striker capitalized on a defensive error by Changchun Yatai to slot the ball into the net, giving Qingdao a 1-0 advantage.
Changchun Yatai responded well and almost leveled the score in the 36th minute when striker Wang Qisheng fired a powerful shot from outside the box. However, the woodwork saved the day for Qingdao, as the ball bounced back into the stands.
The second half saw Changchun Yatai take control of possession, and they were rewarded in the 57th minute when midfielder Tan Yang put them ahead with a clinical finish. Qingdao, however, refused to back down and responded quickly. In the 63rd minute, Li Jiaqi once again proved to be the difference-maker, driving the ball into the bottom corner to level the match at 2-2.
Despite being on the back foot, Qingdao’s never-say-die attitude paid off in the 86th minute when an own goal by Changchun Yatai defender Zhang Yuheng gifted them the lead once again. This time, the Tianshans held on for a hard-fought 2-1 victory.
The win is a much-needed boost for Qingdao, who now move up to 10th place in the CSL standings. Head coach Wang Xixia praised his team’s resilience and ability to adapt during the match. “We played well defensively and created a lot of chances,” Wang said. “This win gives us confidence, and we’ll continue to fight for our place in the CSL.”
Meanwhile, Changchun Yatai’s poor defense cost them dearly, and the loss further deepens their struggle at the bottom of the table. The Yatai are now without a win in their last four matches and face a tough task to avoid relegation.
Overall, Qingdao’s victory was a positive outcome for a team that has struggled this season. The match also highlighted the importance of mental strength and adaptability in high-stakes football. With the CSL relegation race heating up, fans can expect more thrilling encounters in the coming weeks.
