Lionel Messi has made history by scoring three goals for Paris Saint-Germain against Strasbourg on Sunday, breaking the record for the most hat-tricks in Ligue 1.
The Argentine forward has now scored a total of eight hat-tricks in his career, which is more than any other player in the French top flight. His achievement was celebrated with a standing ovation from the home fans and he was given the Ballon d'Or award as the best footballer in Europe earlier this year.
Messi's performance against Strasbourg was impressive too, as he played a key role in PSG's victory. He scored two goals in the first half to put his team ahead, before adding another late on to secure a 3-1 win.
